JAM 2014 IN MONTENEGRO – EAST MEETS JAZZ

We are happy to announce the Jazz Appreciation Month in Montenegro. From April 1st until April 30th UNESCO International Jazz Day, April 30th, we will celebrate jazz in ways we can. Six Montenegrin towns made it to the map this year: Podgorica, Cetinje, Tivat, Bar, Herceg Novi and Pljevlja.

We prepared over twenty programs for our curious audiences: young students, music lovers and jazz enthusiasts: concert performances of international artists, workshops, lectures, movie screenings, and a photo exhibition.

This year JAM in Montenegro develops the theme: “East Meets Jazz” exploring Eastern influences on jazz music. Turkish vocal ensemble A Capella Bogazici, Backyard Jazz Ensemble from Germany, Serbian Jazz Bre! Band and Tigran Hamasyan Trio are scheduled to tour the country.

The music workshops will be facilitated by a great American performer and educator Vinx D`Jon Parrette, as well as German composers Sfefan Schultze and Peter Ehwald, leaders of the Backyard Jazz Ensemble.

Along with the concerts and workshops, lectures and exhibition, movie cycles in several different cities are well worth attending.

The entire program is available here: Events JAM 2014
